Description
“Cues and Waves” is an original ten-minute multimedia duet, exploring the worlds of interactive projection and improvised contemporary dance.
The duet, performed by dancers Averil Dubois and Amelie Mah, follows an improvised score that involves intricate interactive projections that repeat and reflect the dancers movement, revealing new patterns and ideas. The dancers play with levels and distance from the sensor to create unique shapes within the projections. The piece explores connection, distance and how the human body can be fragmented and reflected into space. How can technology abstract the human form? How can we create a symbiotic dialogue with technology rather than replacing the humanity of traditional performance?
